Who We Are
Mission: To support and promote the arts and cultural heritage in the northwest Michigan region.
The Northwest Michigan Arts and Culture Network (NMACN) is a regional organization that was founded in response to the need for a stronger, more unified arts community that could collaborate, share resources, and elevate the cultural profile of the area. NMACN serves a broad range of artists, arts organizations, and cultural institutions across the region, from Traverse City to other communities in the surrounding counties.
The organization was established to help foster a sense of community among artists, educators, and cultural leaders, and to provide a collective voice for the arts and culture sector. Since its founding, NMACN has worked to advocate for the arts at the local, state, and national levels, raise awareness about the value of arts and culture, and support the development of arts and culture programming in the region.
What We Do
Over the years, NMACN has grown to become a critical resource for artists and cultural organizations, offering a variety of services and programs, including grants, networking opportunities, professional development, and educational initiatives. The organization also works to facilitate collaborations between artists, arts organizations, schools, and community groups, helping to build a more vibrant and sustainable cultural scene in the region.
NMACN plays an important role in promoting cultural tourism, economic development through the arts, and the integration of arts into everyday life. By bringing together artists, arts administrators, and community leaders, the network helps to nurture creativity and innovation in the region, enriching the local community and contributing to the cultural fabric of northwest Michigan.
