Who We Are

Mission: To put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build sustainable homes, communities, and hope.

Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region was founded in 1986 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. For over 30 years, Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region has helped to improve the lives of over 115 families and countless others through our affiliate’s services like home repair and financial counseling. We serve Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Kalkaska Counties. Our story is one that isn’t easy to share through words, it is one you must experience first hand.

What We Do

We partner with individuals and families in need to construct affordable housing, offering a hand up rather than a handout. Additionally, they operate a ReStore, a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, and building materials to the public at a fraction of the retail price.
