Who We Are
Mission: To recognize and facilitate the goals of children with special needs and to further develop their current skills through therapeutic and wellness programs for the children and their families.
Kids On The Go is a pediatric non-profit program designed to provide children with special needs (3-17 years) with physical, occupational, speech, and recreational therapies both over the summer months and during the school year.
Our vision is to provide a safe environment that will foster opportunities for growth and inclusion, and provide valuable resources for our community.
What We Do
A strong network of support is often crucial for helping a child grow and reach their full potential. Nonprofit organizations are no different. When Kids On The Go – Traverse City was in its infancy stage over 4 years ago, we knew it would take a strong team of supporters, leaders, helpers, and friends to allow us to grow and reach our goals. We are grateful for our ever-expanding community of support here in Traverse City and the many local collaborators who have helped us along the way.
This year, our village of support continues to expand. We are thankful for the continued collaboration of the Grand Traverse Conservation District, which supports our Adventure Hiking Group, and Just Bee Yoga + Well Being which supports our Yoga Group. These organizations have been integral to the success of these programs, providing staffing, education, and resources completely free of cost. We are also fortunate to have formed a new partnership with Northwestern Michigan College, which provided low-cost classroom space rental for 3 of our summer programs. We also teamed up with a local chef from Fried to create a brand new Snack Squad program. Additionally, we welcomed Michigan State University to our Kids On The Go village through a new speech-language pathology internship.
