Leelanau Children's Center

Mission: To Nurture and Empower Young Children and Families. We are a caring community developed through a play-based curriculum, meaningful family partnerships, and a dedicated early childhood education staff where all children belong and are inspired to become engaged learners and compassionate citizens.

Leelanau Children’s Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides high-quality early childhood educational programs and advocates for children, parents, and families. From its inception in 1976 as a playgroup, LCC has grown to participate in Michigan’s Great Start to Quality program and is among the top 3% of preschools in the state rated as “Demonstrating the Highest Level of Quality.”

LCC provides center-based care for preschoolers, with an emphasis on early relationships, early experiences, child-initiated play-based learning, and community partnerships.
