Who We Are
Mission: To serve as a catalyst for development in the downtown district through public improvement initiatives, aiming to enhance the economic vitality and quality of life in the area.
The Traverse City Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a component unit of the City of Traverse City, Michigan. Serving as the caretakers of Downtown Traverse City, the DDA works with businesses, property owners, and residents to maintain a vibrant city center that is economically healthy.
By 2030, downtown Traverse City will make needed infrastructure and institutional investments that provide for added business, residential and retail capacity downtown. These will attract new private investments and create jobs.
What We Do
- Public Infrastructure Projects: The DDA provides leadership and funding for public infrastructure projects within its district boundaries, including streets, sidewalks, parks, and public spaces.
- Economic Development: By investing in public spaces and infrastructure, the DDA aims to attract private investments, create jobs, and support local businesses.
- Community Engagement: The DDA collaborates with businesses, property owners, and residents to maintain a vibrant city center that is economically healthy.
