Friendship Community Center + Leelanau Investing For Teens (LIFT)

Mission: To invest in the evolution, autonomy, and character of Leelanau County’s youth, guiding them to become kind leaders.

Leelanau Investing For Teens, or LIFT, is a free, out-of-school time program for 6th through 12th graders in Leelanau County, Michigan. We began in 2017 as a small youth program, and now LIFT has grown to provide services to youth at Suttons Bay, Northport, and Glen Lake Schools. Leelanau Investing For Teens, LIFT, provides free, out-of-school time daily activities for middle schoolers at Suttons Bay, Northport, and Glen Lake Schools all year long. LIFT also partners with Suttons Bay and Northport High Schools to support our area’s high schoolers through daily mentoring, homework help, weekend activities, and co-hosting school events, such as homecoming and prom. Whether it’s rock climbing, going to a concert, or sitting down to a puzzle with a teen, we ultimately strive to see all of Leelanau County’s youth experiencing community connection and support.

The Friendship Community Center was founded four decades ago. It is a space designed to connect and gather everybody in our region. We partner with talented community members to bring wellness, art, and educational opportunities to our friends and neighbors. The Center is also an amazing space to rent for celebrations, classes, events, and more on the weekends. No matter your background, you belong here.
