Who We Are
Mission: To promote a positive environment that encourages growth, critical thinking skills, reasoning, global conscience, respect for diversity, and education that is seated in the Anishinaabe Seven Grandfather Teachings.
We are formed as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization under Waganakising Odawak Statute 2003-07. We support Tribal Sovereignty as Indigenous peoples. We see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2021, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Non-Profit Organization upon: Mino-Bimaadiziwin (The Good Life). A long life free from illness and other misfortune; a life of longevity and wellbeing. When we are all connected, that is when we live a good and honest life; social solidarity accomplished through compassionate acts of giving.
What We Do
Miigwech, Inc. is a nonprofit organization driven by a single goal: to promote and practice Mino-Bimaadiziwin (The Good Life) by making our community a better place for all. We provide services, share teachings, advocate for new policies, and build understanding of Mino-Bimaadiziwin within the Wagankising community.
